A Closer Look at Freemasonry and Self-Improvement

Many misunderstandings surround the Free Mason society - frequently negative inferring of an old boy network, or even more nefarious suggestions. Nonetheless, nothing could be further from the truth. As a brotherhood, Freemasonry offers an opportunity for gentlemen to gather and enjoy friendly companionship. Self improvement is a central facet of being a freemason. The Free Mason society encourages assisting other people too, and charity is a real way in which Masons aid people.

One of Freemasonry’s rules is not to look for new individuals to become members. Nevertheless, any person should feel uninhibited to approach any current member to seek further information regarding the Craft.

Membership is for males only, over eighteen years of age, and you should match the standards of character, must be considered having strong moral character.

A male who desires to become a member must be recommended by three members of the lodge he desires to join. He must understand that his character and reputation must be looked into. After recommendation by the Masons of that lodge, he will then be acknowledged as a candidate for membership in the Free Mason society.

Members oftentimes assume items such as golly badges which subtly identify themselves to other Masons and also communicate the lodge they belong to.
