Chinese medicines guide

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin at 3:52 pm on Tuesday, May 26, 2009

China has made significant contributions in the field of medicine and cure. There are many remedies that originated in China and have proved to be of great help in healing people across the world. According to the people of China, there is a universal life force or energy called “chi” or “qi” that pervades the entire human body. The “chi” flows via unseen energy channels known as meridians. As long as the flow of chi is smooth and unobstructed, the individual remains fit and healthy. But the moment there are irregularities in the circulation of chi, health of the person receives a setback. So in order to remain healthy, consistency in the current of chi should be maintained.

To have a sustainable flow of chi, Chinese medical philosophers devised several ways. Some of the best and eminent techniques are listed in this article.

The flow of chi can be systematized by pinching small needles in the human body at specific points. This treatment or technique was termed as acupuncture. The basic principle behind acupuncture is to open the blockages to have a constant flow of energy throughout the body. The acupuncture needles are meant to puncture or open the points known as acupuncture points. This treatment primarily affects the nervous system of the individual. It helps in secreting some crucial hormones and other chemicals that are not adequately produced but are required by the body. Many diseases like asthma, problems in vision, paralysis, alopecia etc. find acupuncture a satisfying and good remedy. The diseases might not be completely eliminated but they are definitely controlled through the Chinese developed acupuncture therapy. The best point of acupuncture is that it has no side-effects, its harmless to go for it

Chinese traditional herbal remedies are meant for hypertension and other cardiac problems. In case of hypertension a mixture of hawthorn, linden blossom, yarrow and valerian is given. The yarrow here is a diuretic while the rest act as relaxing agents. The hypertension with headache is treated with an additional wood betony while stress involves the usage of Siberian ginseng and skullcap.

Arthritis and Inflammation also find a good treatment in Chinese herbs. Medicines like shosaikoto, sinomenium acutum and scutellaria baicalensis are found to be tremendously effective in this area.

Chinese doctors have always emphasized the importance of exercise. They also worked out a special method or style of exercising. This method was named as ‘qigong’. Qigong is deemed to bi-function as a fitness developing and enhancing scheme and also as a springboard for superior martial arts. A set of qigong exercises has acted as perfect medicine in many cases.

The Chinese herbs have something to offer in case of common cold, flu, fever and influenza etc. Astragalus belongs to the pea family and is found to stabilize the immune system. Schisandra vine functions in multiple ways like in preventing diarrhea, cough, stress, aids in producing of fluids by the body. Echinacea is beat in averting cold or flu. It is a purple colored coneflower that stimulates the production of infection resistant white blood cells in the body.

This however is not all. Chinese herbs and other remedies like exercises have a record-breaking significance in human life. They have largely contributed to the maintenance of a perfect health.

Keeping Fit on the Roads: Electric Bikes

Filed under: Cycling — admin at 3:49 am on Sunday, May 24, 2009

Not getting enough exercise? It’s a common thing - we all realize this, and still many things get in the way of actually working out. We see individuals packed into gyms working out, and think : well, I have to drive to the gymnasium, pay for my member’s costs, then get to do some exercise. It seems like loads of trouble, isn’t there something I can do that’s not going to waste a lot of my time - maybe something that’s actually pragmatic?

You might consider purchasing a push bike, as cycling is a fantastic way to get fit. You can bike to the local shops or to work, so it’s very useful. It’s also cheap - there’s no gasoline called for and the running costs are negligable. It’s also eco-friendly. And not forgetting the small point of actually getting you in shape.

Yet lots of individuals are reluctant to get a bicycle since it’s just TOO much effort. As odd as that may sound, consider that they may be aged, live in a very hilly area or suffer from particular ailments that make cycling too much effort for their abilities. Also for a few individuals, it’s not pragmatic pedaling to their work simply because they sweat too much through the exertions of biking.

This is where e-bikes, or electric bikes come in. They give you a break on the tricky slopes simply by turning your hand on the grip and letting the electric motor kick in - pedalling is no longer required then. Then when you’re ready to switch to manual, just start pedalling. You get reasonable exercise and fresh air without breaking a sweat. E-bikes are also very cheap to run requiring only a daily battery recharge if you do around 20 to 30 kilometres per day, although most individuals require just two re-charges a week as they’re not doing this kind of distance. If you need to carry your bike around, consider a folding frame e-bike.

These days the real cost of buying an e-bike have come right down in price, so you can find yourself saving a considerable amount of money on bus fares, fuel, gym memberships etc. by buying and on a regular basis using an e-bike.

Gaming Establishment Gaming: a Guide to Pastimes Betting Aficionados Engage in

prestige casino

Assuming that you don’t comprehend gambling saloon gambling, feel free to read on.

By common definition a gambling house is a construction that presents gaming. At such a place, patrons will play by challenging one armed bandits or a slew of other games of chance. Betting establishment games in the main have fully transparent probabilities incorporated that safeguard the gambling establishment secures its upper hand over the gambling buffs.

A lot of betting hall games can incite you into being addicted rapidly. Let’s look at the vintage slot machine, a cash operated appliance with 3, sometimes more reels which pirouette if an arm on the side is pulled. This gadget routinely remits referring to a run of designs asvisible on the dials on the instrument. Unfortunately, betting hall games present an appearance of jurisdiction, tricking the gambling devotee — the addressee is given over choice, but these will never realistically compensate for the client’s fundamental odds. That is induced by the gaming establishment not paying the full sum as hoped for. This technique is often noticeable in well-known casino games like five-card stud, dice, roulette or blackjack.

Poker is truly a very popular casino pastime. The gambling buffs, playing with fully concealed cards, are placing bets into a principal pot which is then bestowed onto the winning player sitting on the best hand. (And yes, the shameless bluffer may win as well.)

Just like five-card stud, blackjack too is an immensely popular casino game. A great deal of its appeal is due to the mix of luck and expertise & decision making, not to forget a practise termed “card counting”. The aforementioned is a pretty sophisticated mode of playing playing tactics by which gaming enthusiasts may significantly reverse the chances of the card game to their advantage both by betting and systematic actions established on the cards shown.

“Craps” is a well-known casino pastime where you will bet on the throw of dice. Guests bet on the outcome of of 1 roll, or on a sequence of spins of two dice. Contrary to blackjack, there just isn’t any proven sustainable killer system players could exploit to ramp up the chances.

Roulette is a notable game — a croupier rotates a roulette wheel which contains thirty-seven (as applicable to French roulette) or thirtyeight (American roulette) separately marked places in which the pellet will eventually come to rest, deciding the winning number and its accompanying sequences. Assuming that the participant has bet on any given number and makes it i.e. they’ve got a lucky hand, the remuneration is going to be thirty-five to one, the original wager itself will be tossed back. Ergo in total it’s increased by thirty-six.

It’s recommended that you try to be emphatically watchful though, because these casino games should be considered indisputably habituating. Uncounted lives are reported to have been demolished through gambling and while it might be enjoyable, work to moderate your play.

Hypnotherapy for Allergy: Hypnosis to Heal Allergies & Immune System Disorders

Filed under: Uncategorized — admin at 5:22 pm on Friday, May 22, 2009

Americans today are suffering from a serious pandemic of
diseases associated with dysfunction of the immune system.
The most publicized of these diseases and the most lethal is
AIDS, Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. While this illness
shows many unusual features for an infectious disease, it can
nevertheless be understood as a viral sexually transmitted
infection. Far more common, though not as lethal, are a host
of other immune system related conditions which are not
communicable and appear to lack any specific microbial cause.
These include asthma, food and pollen allergies, mold, dust
and chemical allergies, chronic fatigue syndrome,
fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriasis, eczema, and
atopic dermatitis, multiple sclerosis, lupus, type one
diabetes, and a host of other conditions including chronic
arterial inflammation, which is considered a more important
causative factor in heart attacks and strokes than
cholesterol.

While the symptoms of these conditions vary enormously, all
of these conditions have one thing in common: all are the
results of the immune system targeting the wrong enemy.
Instead of confining their vicious attack (inflammation) to
the dangerous microorganisms that truly endanger our lives,
the white blood cells and cellular battle chemicals of the
immune system exhaust us in a futile assault either upon
harmless pollens or food proteins, or on the very cells of
our own bodies. Read the list again of these conditions.

Notice that all of them are growing rapidly in western
civilization. All may be regarded as pandemic. Is there
anyone among my readers who has not suffered from one or more
of these conditions? And in the next three articles, I will
explain the surprising, little known, yet scientifically
proven sources common to modern society that are the cause of
these pandemic diseases. Furthermore I will demonstrate how
the technology of hypnotherapy can help defeat this growing
pandemic and restore our immune system to its proper
function. Given the emerging dangers of real pathogens, such
as bird flu, TB, and other drug resistant organisms that
could readily overwhelm billions in this crowded, fast moving
world, our immune system must be prepared for the real
battles that lie ahead!

These articles do not attempt to spell out the complete
etiology (symptoms and signs) of this wide variety of
diseases, or to summarize the wide variety of treatments
available through medical science. While the hypnotic
approaches defined in these articles have good success with
many clients, there are none that can be guaranteed
successful for all clients. They are no substitute for proper
medical treatment, when called for. These methods are at best
a powerful adjunct to medical treatment, dietary changes, and
a proper program of exercise, rest, and healthy relationships
and lifestyle.

This first article in our series will focus on answering the
big question about these disease processes. Why is it
happening to US? We live in a society in which most people
are well fed and live in a comfortable and prosperous world,
in which most of the great diseases of the past have been
defeated. So why are so many of us being assaulted by our own
immune system? Some researchers blame this very condition of
safety for the new pandemic, suggesting that in the absence
of real microbial enemies, a “bored” immune system decides to
mount any old campaign to justify its existence. While this
model may have some merit I know the answer is a bit more
complex.

For starters, my research indicates that our increasing
alienation from the natural world, trapped inside four walls
that would have driven our tribal ancestors crazy, breathing
a host of strange chemicals, and eating foods transformed in
subtle ways by agribusiness and its combination of chemical
pesticides, fertilizers, and genetic engineering, are a
primary reason that our bodies dont feel safe at a cellular
level.

Only concerted action against these destructive
lifestyles and business interests can change these ugly
circumstances, action which may be essential for the survival
of our species. While such action is critical, it is not the
subject of these articles. Rather, I will show in this
article how we can use hypnotic techniques to stop the body
from overreacting to these environmental toxins in an
allergic reaction. For example, while all agree that the
poisons in a bee sting are dangerous, a person who is stung
usually finds it a brief nuisance, while the allergic
individual may die within minutes as a result of the body’s
largely unconscious reaction to this poison. I will show in
the second article how hypnotic techniques can teach the
client’s immune system to react much less aggressively to any
of these toxins in our environment, or our diet.

A second factor that affects the immune system in this way is
the pressures of stress in our mainly sedentary lives. In the
old days - during most of the last million years of the
evolution of our species, stress was as common as it is
today. But most stressors demanded physical action from us.
Starving? Chase down some animals. Chased by a saber-tooth?
Fight or run. Now these same stress-created hormones which
prepare us so well to move our bodies for fight or flight
arrive in circumstances in which NO physical response is
available. It seems only natural that under these
circumstances, the cells of the body would eventually start a
battle against any enemy they can find. In our third article,
we will learn how hypnosis can relieve these reactions, and
help us create a life that is more capable of dealing with
stress.

A third factor that affects these reactions is a lack of
infant bonding to mother’s biochemical immune system
programming. This chemical programming is contained in the
colostrom that is the essential formula for informing the new
born infants rapidly developing immune system with the
innate wisdom of mother’s own immune system. Mother’s
colostrum conveys her body’s knowledge to her newborn infant
of what environmental chemical signatures are harmless and
which ones require the immune system to be alerted to a
microbial invader. It was this essential communication
through mother’s breast that prepared British immigrant’s
children to survive the smallpox epidemics that ravaged
Indian tribes in the early years of the settlement of
America, sometimes killing nearly everyone in many tribes.
These Indian mothers had no exposure to the virus prior to
the epidemic’s arrival, thus no way to resist the disease
themselves or to communicate resistance to their infants.

Alas, with the widespread use of infant formula as an
“acceptable” and convenient substitute for the breast (due to
propaganda funded by the pharmaceutical industry, according
to no less an authority on infant care than Dr. Spock) we
have all become guinea pigs in a vast pharmaceutical
experiment that has deprived us of this essential
programming, and left us all at risk for immune deficiency
diseases. The long term solution to this problem is also
largely political and educational. But that is too late for
adults living today with this terrible loss. Yet here too
hypnotherapy has answers. Our fourth article will spell out
how hypnotic techniques can be used to inform the immune
system of this important distinction between biochemical
friend and foe by accessing the mother archetype within the
client’s subconscious mind, and using that archetype in very
specific ways to restore the body’s sense of biochemical
safety.

Between them, these articles outline a new and potentially
powerful collection of resources which show promise to stop
this growing pandemic in its tracks, with treatments that
have none of the expense or side effects characteristic of so
many modern drug oriented approaches, and increasing the
effectiveness exponentially of the drugs we may need to take
on our doctor’s advice. This is the revolution in treatment
that could relieve the suffering of millions. Keep reading.

The techniques I describe included in four articles for working
with allergies and immune disorders are complex and, in my
opinion, not particularly useful for amateurs. Many health
professionals choose to refer clients only to medical doctors
or licensed psychologists who practice hypnosis. This is a
mistake, since most licensed practitioners do not have the
advanced skills in hypnosis needed for the kind of work I am
describing.

Hospital Chief to File Appeal for £175,000 Claim

Filed under: Business Opps, Legal Issues Info — admin at 3:15 am on Friday, May 22, 2009

Rose Gibb, the ex chief of the trust that runs the hospital where the worst bug outbreak in the UK had taken place, was denied her severance compensation of £175,000 by a High Court Judge last month.

Ms. Gibb had claimed compensation as per her contract with her former employer, Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust in Kent.

Ms Gibb would now be taking her case to an Employment Tribunal according to Jon Restell, the Chief Executive of her union Managers in Partnership. He said that the step was taken after consulting a leading counsel, who assured them of the strong grounds of appeal. Ms Gibb would also ask for the leave to appeal from the Court of Appeal. Restell assured that any further developments would be revealed at a later stage but that the process was likely to take a long time.

Ms Gibb was being paid an annual compensation of £150,000 for the position of Chief Executive of the Trust. She had left her job by mutual agreement with her employer days before a critical report was published that blamed the hospital management for the spread of clostridium difficile as the condition in the hospital wards was unhygienic. The outbreak had taken 90 lives and had resulted in a major public outcry.

Ms Gibb claims that according to her contract, she should have been paid a £250,000 package at her exit, consisting of a compensation of £175,000 and notice pay of £75,000. She had received her notice pay after the exit, but the Department of Health had blocked her compensation payment due to negative public opinion.

Fighting Obesity - an ayurvedic way

Fighting Obesity - an ayurvedic way

Definition of Obesity

Excess amount of body fat is Obesity.

Excess weight of muscles, bone, fat and water in the body (like body builders and athletes) is Overweight.

Over weighted persons are at increased health risk than normal persons. They are more prone to chronic diseases like heart diseases, type-2 diabetes, high blood pressure, stroke, and few types of cancers.

Is fat necessary to our body?

Certain amount of body fat does the following function
1. Heat insulation.
2. Absorption of shock.
3. Storage of energy. Etc.

Ayurveda describes the functions of body fat as

“Medaha sneha swedaudhrudatwam pushtim asthyancha”

This means in normal conditions the body fat keeps the body moisturized , causes sweating , gives energy to body (by storing energy) and nourishes bones. (By protecting them from shock)

Distribution of fat

Women have more body fat than men. In women usually the fat accumulates around hips giving them a pear shape. In men it accumulates around belly giving them an apple shape. The obesity related problems start when fat accumulates around waist.

In ayurveda the distribution of fat is described as follows.

Medastu sarvabhutaanamudarenvasthi thishtathi |
Ata evodare vriddhihi prayo medaswino bhavet ||

Fat gets deposited in and around belly in all living beings. It is also present in bone. Hence when a person becomes obese his stomach bulges out.

And also the characters of an obese person are described as

“Medo mamsa ativriddhatvaachalasphigudarastanaha”

Which means the hips, belly and breasts of an obese person sag and sagged parts flap as that person moves. An obese person will not be active.

Causes of Obesity

When a person consumes more calories than he burns then the excess calories get stored in the form of fat causing obesity.

1. Genetic factors-Obesity tends to run in families. If parents are fat then the offspring also show a tendency to accumulate fat. Even the diet and lifestyle habits which are practiced in family also contribute to obesity.

2. Environment. - A person’s eating habits and the level of physical activities a person has also contribute for excess deposition of fat. When a person eats food containing more calories and has a sedentary work then the calories consumed are more than calories burnt. The excess amount calories are stored as fat.

3. Psychological disturbances.- There is a tendency to over eat in response to negative emotions like boredom, sadness or anger. This leads to obesity.

4. Binge eating disorder.

5. Diseases and conditions like Hypothyroidism, Cushing’s syndrome, Depression, and certain neurological problems lead to overeating which in turn leads to accumulation of fat.

6. Medicines such as steroids and some antidepressants may cause weight gain.

Causes of obesity according to Ayurveda

The causes of obesity are very clearly explained in ayurveda. The following reasons which are mentioned in ayurveda increase the deposition of fat.

Avayamadivaaswapnashleshmalaaaharasevinaha |
Madhuroannarasaha prayaha snehamedhovivardhati ||

According to ayurveda the causes of obesity are defined as :

1. Avyayama : Not exerting physically
2. Divaswapna: Sleeping in afternoon.
3. Shleshmala Ahara Vihara : The diet and life styles which increase Kapha
4. Madhura Annaha : Consuming sweetened foods .

Health risks due to Obesity

Obesity leads to the following problems.
1. Type-2 diabetes
2. Heart disease.
3. High Blood pressure.
4. Stroke
5. Few types of Cancers
6. Gall stones
7. Liver diseases
8. Osteo arthritis.
9. Gout
10. Infertility
11. Irregular menstruation in women.

Debt Management Advice

Filed under: Financial World — admin at 10:20 am on Monday, May 18, 2009

In some cases, they key to getting out of debt effectively is simply managing it properly.

The first and most important rule of debt management is that you should never ignore the problem. Your lenders will soon notice if you have been missing payments, and the consequences can often be serious.

Instead, at the first sign of problems with repaying your debts, you should contact your lenders to explain your situation and discuss your options. Lenders will appreciate the fact that you have shown you are prepared to address the problem, and it may be possible to negotiate reduced payments towards your debts or a temporary payment holiday so that you can get your finances back on track.

If you can’t come to a satisfactory agreement with your lenders on your own, then it might be a good idea to speak to a debt adviser about a professional Debt Management Plan.

What is a Debt Management Plan?
In short, a debt management plan is any informal agreement between you and your creditors with regards to how you intend to repay your debts.

Of course, this means that if your lenders had accepted your offer of reduced monthly payments, you would have entered into a debt management plan of sorts — but if those negotiations fail, or if you find negotiating with creditors alone a little daunting, you could benefit from the experience of a professional debt management company, who will have dealt with many more people in your situation.

When negotiating with your creditors, a debt management company will be able to communicate the reasons why a debt management plan would benefit them as well as you. There will often be an existing professional relationship between the debt management company and your creditors — the chances are that they will have dealt with each other on similar cases in the past — and this could improve your overall chances of getting favourable terms on your debt management plan.

Should I consider any other debt solutions?
Yes, and that’s another advantage of dealing with a professional debt management company — they should assess your situation to help establish whether another debt solution, such as a debt consolidation loan or an IVA (Individual Voluntary Arrangement) might be more suitable for your circumstances.

For example, if repaying your full debts within a reasonable time period seems unrealistic, then a debt management plan may not be the most appropriate solution. If you’re unsure, speak to a debt adviser and let them help you establish the best debt solution for your needs.

Purchase Discount Tennis Items Online

Filed under: Lots Of Sports Resources, Recreation Management, Shopping Portal — admin at 12:23 am on Monday, May 18, 2009

The correct tools and the right court are important for an excellent game of tennis. Below is an outline of the basic essentials.

Tennis Racket Choice: A well weighted, expertly built racquet is a sound investment for first-rate tennis. Fifty to 100 pounds invested in a racket of nationally recognised quality will be money well spent. The handle of the tennis racket is recommended to be small. A circumference of four and a half inches is recommended for novices.

Most of the modern-day rackets balance heavier in the grip than in the head for quicker action. When acquiring a racket, the player is advised swing one or two different rackets & get the one that best suits them.

Care of Racquet: The racket is recommended to be kept in a press & water-resistant holder at all times that it isn’t being used. For the duration of the winter the tennis racket should be locked away in a dry location, where no wetness can get to it. Otherwise the fibres are expected to perish & the racket frame distort. Enjoy excellent tennis and skiing equipment offers on the Internet today.

Balls: Wright & Ditson, Spalding, Wilson, Dunlop, or Pennsylvania balls which bear the latest year and correct seal should be purchased as regularly as needed. Tennis balls are great only for a certain length of time as the felt cover remains unspoiled, and the bounce is perfect.

Tennis Nets: Cotton nets (costing in the region of twelve pounds) are fine for informal use in the sports centre or improvised lawn courts.

Outside nets ought to be constructed of tarred hemp, with a strong canvas top, & steel or rope cable. If strung on a steel cable, the tennis net can definitely be left kept out over night without slaking, however with a rope cable, the tennis net should be undone each & every night. Nets will last a significant deal longer if they are taken in at night & when it drizzles. A high-quality net costs about 20 to sixty pounds. Steel nets, totally weatherproof, are growing in favour especially for winter use.

Here is some info dealing with common eye conditions which may result in you having to need prescription specs

Myopia - Short sightedness, near sightedness

Nearsighted people visualise fine up close, but not at a distance. Distant objects seem blurred, whilst close objects are in focus.

DESCRIPTION

The eyeball is longer than usual, making the eye "too powerful." The image is focused at a point ahead of the retina. The greater the degree of myopia, the shorter the distance at which the Myopic can visualize clearly.

SOLUTION

Myopia can be corrected with a concave lens system which is thinner in the centre and thicker at the boundary. This type of lens pushes the focal point back onto the retina and restores good vision at any distance.

HYPEROPIA - Also known as long sightedness, far sightedness

Farsighted people visualise far better at a distance compared to close up. Although distant objects appear properly focused, the accommodation required to focus on nearby objects causes eyestrain.

DESCRIPTION

The eyeball is shorter than normal which means the eye is not powerful enough. The eye is said to be "too short" and the image is focused behind the retina.

SOLUTION

Hyperopia is corrected using a convex lens which is thinner at the periphery and thicker in the center. This type of lens brings the focus forward to the retina.

ASTIGMATISM

People with astigmatism have poor near and distant vision. They do not appreciate the contrasts between horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines in the same way likened to those with regular eyes.

Astigmatism is always accompanied by another visual impairment, such as Myopia, hyperopia and Presbyopia.

DESCRIPTION

Astigmatism is commonly a result of an irregularly-shaped cornea that is slightly oval, rather than round, and oblong rather than spherical.

SOLUTION

Astigmatism can be corrected with the use of a cylindrical lens system whose curvature offsets the corneal irregularity.
